GIRONA AD (LEGE).- Works to replace ILS/DME RWY 19 “IGN”

Until 12 June 2026 (estimated), updates related to the replacement of the ILS/DME RWY 19 “IGN” will be underway.

The works will be conducted in three phases. The works described for each phase and zone will not necessarily be executed simultaneously, rather they will be scheduled based on the operations affected.

The start and end dates of each phase, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.

All work areas will be duly marked and lit.

 

PHASE 1: Preliminary stockpiling and stakeout

The works to be performed in this stage will mainly consist of:

- Stockpiling of material in the area close to the LOC shed (Stockpile Area behind the

LOC 19 shed).

- Stakeout and topographic surveys prior to disconnection and technical study of the GP/DME masts.

- Works in the LOC IGN RWY 19 shed (LOC Civil Engineering Works).

- Works on the LOC IGN RWY 19 elevated antenna base (Start of civil works on LOC antenna base).

- Works in the GP/DME IGN RWY 19 shed.

No operational impact on ILS.

 

PHASE 2: Disconnection of GP/DME RWY 19

The actions will be performed with GP/DME RWY 19 out of service. These tasks will require workers and machinery to be present in the zone and in the critical area of GP/DME RWY 19.

The following instrument approach procedures will not be usable (U/S):

- IAC 4 - ILS Z RWY 19.

- IAC 5 - ILS Y RWY 19.

Other procedures will be operational.

 

PHASE 3: Disconnection of ILS/DME RWY 19

The actions will be performed with the ILS/DME RWY 19 (LOC and GP/DME RWY 19) system completely out of service.

These tasks will require workers and machinery to be present in the zone and in the critical area of GP/DME RWY 19 and LOC RWY 19.

The following instrument approach procedures will not be usable (U/S):

- IAC 4 - ILS Z RWY 19.

-  IAC 5 - ILS Y RWY 19.

-  IAC 6 - LOC Z RWY 19.

-  IAC 7 - LOC Y RWY 19.

Other procedures will be operational.
