BILBAO AD (LEBB).- Works on air TWY D4 and helicopter apron.
Until 4 September 2026 (estimated), actions for the adaptation to helicopter Issue 1 of the Air TWY D4 and the Helicopter Apron at Bilbao Airport will be underway.
The work areas shall be duly marked and lit. Caution is recommended due to the presence of personnel and machinery.
No works will be performed when low visibility procedures are active.
Works that affect the manoeuvring area will be carried out in 3 phases, and Phase 2 will be divided into 2 sub-phases.
The start and end dates, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.
The phases may not necessarily be completed in the given order. The stages may be jointly worked on.
PHASE 1. Compliance of TWY D4.
The works will consist of resurfacing and widening the taxiway, lighting installation, and painting the markings of Air TWY D4.
Schedule
The works shall be carried out during the airport’s operational and non-operational hours.
Operational Restrictions
- TWY D4 closed between sunset and sunrise.
PHASE 2. Actions on PRKG H4 and H5 of the Helicopter Apron
PHASE 2.1 Actions on PRKG H4 of the Helicopter Apron.
The works will consist of upgrading PRKG H4 of the helicopter apron. Erasing markings and repainting markings adequately.

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s operational and non-operational hours.

- PRKG H4 on helicopter apron closed.
PHASE 2.2. Actions on PRKG H4 of the Helicopter Apron.
The works will consist of upgrading PRKG H5 of the helicopter apron. Erasing markings and repainting markings adequately.

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s operational and non-operational hours.
Operational Restrictions
- PRKG H5 on helicopter apron closed between sunset and sunrise.
PHASE 3. Actions in surfaced area next to PAPIs RWY 28.
The works will consist of demolishing the concrete slabs on the runway strip at the junction of the paved area next to PAPIs RWY28 with the runway edge and backfilling with the construction of the meeting slopes.
Schedule
The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.
Operational Restrictions
- No fixed-wing aircraft will be permitted to land or take off on RWY 10/28.
- Helicopters may operate on RWY 10/28 (take-offs, landings and aerial taxiing).
