SAN SEBASTIÁN AD (LESO).- Works to replace DME San Sebastián HIG.
Until 4 September 2026 (estimated), works related to the replacement of the DME “HIG” equipment will be underway.
The works will be conducted in three phases. The works described for each phase and zone will not necessarily be executed simultaneously, rather they will be scheduled based on the operations affected.
The start and end dates of each phase, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.
All work areas will be duly marked and lit.
Phase 1: Preliminary stockpiling and stakeout
The works to be performed in this stage will mainly consist of stockpiling and preparation of the site for the removal and installation works of the new DME HIG and its transmitting system.
No operational impact on DME.
Phase 2: DME HIG unserviceable
The actions will be performed with DME HIG out of service. The antenna and cabling will be replaced by manual means.
- uninstallation of the current DME and installation of the new one, with its transmitting systems and wiring;
- power supply of the new DME, replacement of batteries;
- work on the power panel, signal collection;
- works to integrate the DME signal.
The following instrument procedures will not be usable (U/S):
- SID 2 – RWY 04: BTZ1Z, BLV2Z, CEGAM2Z, PPN1Z;
- SID 5 – RWY 22: BTZ1Y, BLV2Y, CEGAM2Y.
Other procedures are not affected by this supplement.
Phase 3: NDB HIG unserviceable
Works will be performed, making it necessary to take the NDB HIG out of service:
- NDB signalling and control cabling;
- obtaining NDB signals at the site.
The following instrument procedures will not be usable (U/S):
- SID 2 – RWY 04: CEGAM2Z;
- SID 5 – RWY 22: BLV2Y, CEGAM2Y.
Other procedures are not affected by this supplement.
