SANTIAGO/Rosalía de Castro AD (LEST).- Works to replace ILS/DME RWY 17 “IGO” and ILS/DME RWY 35 “ISO”.
Until 27 November 2026 (estimated), works related to the replacement of ILS/DME RWY 17 “IGO” and ILS/DME RWY 35 “ISO” systems will be carried out.
The works will be executed in three phases. The activities described in each phase and area will not necessarily be performed simultaneously, but will be scheduled according to operational constraints.
The start and completion dates of each phase, as well as any operational impact, will be announced by the corresponding NOTAM.
All work areas will be duly marked and lighted.
Phase 1: Preliminary works (ILS/DME RWY 17 and RWY 35 operational)
The works will involve the presence of machinery and personnel in the sensitive and critical areas of GP/DME RWY 17 and LOC RWY 17, as well as GP/DME RWY 35 and LOC RWY 35.
The works in this phase will mainly consist of:
- Storage of material.
- Surveying and setting-out works.
- Installation of radiating systems.
- New ILS/DME equipment shelters.
- Installations inside ILS/DME shelters.
- Relocation of communication services.
Phase 2: ILS/DME RWY 17 out of service
Works will be performed with the complete ILS/DME RWY 17 system (LOC and GP/DME RWY 17) out of service.
The works will involve the presence of machinery and personnel in the sensitive and critical areas of GP/DME RWY 17 and LOC RWY 17.
The works in this phase will mainly consist of:
- Equipment adjustment works.
- Installations inside ILS/DME shelters.
- Flight inspection.
The following instrument approach procedures will be unavailable (U/S) during this phase:
- ILS Z RWY 17.
- ILS Y RWY 17.
- LOC Z RWY 17.
- LOC Y RWY 17.
Phase 3: ILS/DME RWY 35 out of service
Works will be performed with the complete ILS/DME RWY 35 system (LOC and GP/DME RWY 35) out of service.
The works will involve the presence of machinery and personnel in the sensitive and critical areas of GP/DME RWY 35 and LOC RWY 35.
The works in this phase will mainly consist of:
- Equipment adjustment works.
- Installations inside ILS/DME shelters.
- Flight inspection.
The following instrument approach procedures will be unavailable (U/S) during this phase:
- ILS Z RWY 35.
- ILS Y RWY 35.
- LOC Z RWY 35.
