ALICANTE/Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández AD (LEAL).- Split of inner taxiway on apron in front of terminal building.

Until 25 December 2026 (estimated), construction works will be carried out for the development of a new taxiway on the apron area in front of the eastern facade of the terminal building, parallel to the existing taxiway providing access to aircraft stands.

The new taxiway will be designated T2, and the existing one will be redesignated T1. The works will be executed in four phases, with the areas affected in each phase shown in this document. The sequence of execution of the phases will not necessarily follow the order presented herein. The start and end dates, as well as specific working hours for each phase, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.

PHASE 1: WORKS AFFECTING RUNWAY

DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

• During this phase, works will be carried out within the aerodrome movement area, including installation of electrical ducting and associated civil works, laying of power supply cabling, and erection of high-mast (“mega”) lighting towers.

• The exact dates and times of execution will be published via the corresponding phase activation NOTAM.

OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

• RWY 10/28 closed.

Dates and times of runway closures will be defined and promulgated by NOTAM.

PHASE 2: WORKS ON APRON

DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

• During this phase, civil works, pavement construction, airfield lighting installation, and horizontal marking and signage will be carried out as part of the apron expansion project.

WORK SCHEDULE

• The exact dates and times of execution will be published via the corresponding phase activation NOTAM.

OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

• The entire apron area located along the eastern facade of the terminal building (PRKG 200 and 35 to 49 inclusive), as well as the apron turning area will be withdrawn from service.

PHASE 3: PAVEMENT CONNECTION WORKS

DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

• During this phase, temporary fencing will be removed and pavement connection works will be carried out to tie in the new surface with the existing pavement.

• The exact dates and times of execution will be published via the corresponding phase activation NOTAM.

OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

• Operations on the apron area in front of the eastern facade of the terminal building (PRKG 36 to 49 inclusive) will be restricted to aircraft up to ICAO Code Letter C. The apron turning area will also be restricted to Code C aircraft only, except when used as an isolated parking position, in which case no restriction will apply.

PHASE 4: NEW TAXIWAYS T1 AND T2

DESCRIPTION OF WORKS

• Final works for the operational integration of the new and existing areas, including painting, signage and related tasks.

OPERATIONAL RESTRICTIONS

• The entire apron area located along the eastern facade of the terminal building (PRKG 200 and 35 to 49 inclusive) and the apron turning area will be withdrawn from service.
