ZARAGOZA AD (LEZG).- Airside pavement resurfacing and new electric handling‑vehicle cargo parking area.

1. General Details

Until 16 April 2027 (estimated), works to repair or replace apron slabs and to resurface areas in front of buildings will be underway. Additionally, a new car park for charging electric vehicles will also be built, in addition to the treatment of all affected services.

The start, end and activation dates of the different stages of these works, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via NOTAM.

All work areas shall be duly marked and lit. Caution is recommended due to the presence of workers, machinery and earthworks.

Scope of the works

  • Improving the condition of the apron by repairing the concrete slabs. Surface damage will be repaired and slabs replaced in case of major deterioration.

  • Construction of a car park for electric vehicles.

  • Replacement of surface treatment in front of PRKG 14, 15, 16.

The works will be performed in the areas highlighted in the map.

2. Phases

The works will be executed preferably from sunrise to sunset. Works may be carried out at night-time at the request of the Airport Management.

Two sub-phases may be executed simultaneously at the request of the Airport Management.

Some works will be carried out in view of traffic so as not to affect operations.

In the event that LVP are in place, the airport’s internal procedure shall be followed.

PHASE 1

Sub-Phase 1.A

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 8-8A, 9-9A, 13 closed.

  • TWY INNER rerouted via PRKG 13, without centre line lighting.

Sub-Phase 1.B

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 3-4, 8-8A, 9 closed.

  • PRKG 9A limited to pushback for code letter C aircraft (MAX SPAN 36 m).

  • PRKG 2 limited to aircraft WING SPAN < 29 m.

  • Service road rerouted via interior of PRKG 8-8A.

  • EPAs of PRKG 3-4 closed.

  • EPAs of PRKG 8 closed / occupied by the rerouted road.

Sub-Phase 1.C

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 5-5A, 9-9A closed.

Sub-Phase 1.D

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 6-6A closed.

  • Apron surface in front of warehouses closed.

  • Service road rerouted via interior of area in front of warehouses and PRKG 6.

  • EPAs of PRKG 6-6A closed / occupied by the rerouted road.

Sub-Phase 1.E1

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 9-9A, 12, 13, 14, 15-15A and 16 closed.

  • TWY C1.1 closed.

  • TWY C1.1 centre line lighting switched off.

  • TWY INNER between PRKG 9 to PRKG west (PRKG 14 to 16) closed.

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 14, 15-15A, 16 closed.

  • TWY INNER between PRKG 12 to PRKG west (PRKG 14 to 16) closed.

Sub-Phase 1.E3

Operational impacts:

  • TWY C1.1 closed.

  • TWY INNER rerouted between PRKG 7 until PRKG 14 in direction TA.

  • PRKG 12 and 13 closed.

Sub-Phase 1.F

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 1-2, APN of GENERAL AVIATION closed.

  • Taxiway centre line lighting to GENERAL AVIATION switched off.

  • EPAs of PRKG 1-2 closed.

  • Relocation of LVP signal outside the new INNER clearway.

Sub-Phase 1.G

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 7-7A, 13 closed.

  • TWY C1.1 closed.

  • Service road rerouted via interior of PRKG 7.

  • EPAs of PRKG 13 closed.

  • EPAs of PRKG 7-7A closed / occupied by the rerouted road.

Sub-Phase 1.H

Operational impacts:

  • PRKG 12 closed.

  • Apron surface in front of warehouses closed.

PHASE 2:

No operational impact:
Includes pavement renewal in the areas fronting the different ZASO buildings.

PHASE 3. ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING AREA.

No operational impact:
Comprises the paving of an area outside the apron for handling vehicle charging.
During Phase 3, there will be no operational impact.

PHASE 4. CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS.

No operational impact.

PHASE 5

It involves applying a surface treatment to the unpaved strip of the inner taxiway area between PRKG 14 and 16.

The works shall be carried out in periods without traffic; therefore, there will be no operational impact.
