BILBAO AD (LEBB).- Works to ensure margin compliance on several taxiways.

Until 26 November 2027 (estimated), works to ensure the compliance of the margins of several taxiways at Bilbao Airport will be underway. This entails works on TWY A2, B, C3, C4, C6, D1, D3, B and T2, T3, T4, T5 and T6, changing the outer edge markings and adjusting the margin surfacing where necessary.

 All work areas shall be duly marked and lit. Caution is recommended in the areas close to the works due to the presence of workers and machinery

No works will be performed when low visibility procedures are active.

 Works that affect the movement area will be carried out in 5 phases. Phase 5 will be executed in 2 sub-phases. The start and end dates of each phase, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.

 The phases may not necessarily be completed in the given order.

PHASE 1. Margin TWY C3-T2

The works will involve excavating and restoring the margin surface in order to ensure its strength, painting the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY C3 and T2.

 Schedule

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.

 Operational Restrictions

- Closure TWY C3:

- Exercise extreme caution and reduce taxiing speed on T2 due to the potential presence of a step on the taxiway margin.

- Aircraft landing on Runway 12 shall exit via TWY C4, C2 or C1.

PHASE 2. Margin TWY C6-T6

The works consist of removing and repainting the markings of the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY C6 and T6.

Schedule

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.

Operational Restrictions

- None.

PHASE 3. Margin TWY B-T4/T5/Inner norte.

The works will involve excavating and restoring the margin surface in order to ensure its strength, painting the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY B and TA, B and T5 and B and inner norte.

Schedule

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.

Operational Restrictions

- Closure TWY B.

- Exercise extreme caution and reduce taxiing speed on the intersection of TWY B and TWY T4 and TWY T5 due to the potential presence of a step on the taxiway margin.

- Stand 21 restricted. Stand 20 and 22 limited to autonomous exit onl

PHASE 4. Margin TWY T4-A2 and TWY C4-T3/T4

The works will involve excavating and restoring the margin surface in order to ensure its strength, painting the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY T4 and A2, TWY C4 and T3, and TWY C4 and T4.

 Schedule

The works will be carried out 24H.

Operational Restrictions

- Closure of TWY C4, T3, T4 and Gate A2/TWY T3/TWT T4/TWY C4 intersection.

- Closure of stands 9, 10, 11 and 111 on the north apron.

- Alternate route to Gate A2 through Stand 111, Gate A1 and T2, with marshaller for both entry to and exit from the north apron.

- Code letter E aircraft operations restricted.

- Arrivals on RWY 10: CRJ900 maximum.

- Departures on RWY 28: CRJ900 maximum.

- Engine tests at Stand 14. As an alternative, the de-icing apron will be used for aircraft up to code letter C. Turboprop aircraft may conduct tests at their stand.

PHASE 5. Margin TWY D1 and D3

PHASE 5.1. Margin TWY D1

The works will involve excavating and restoring the margin surface in order to ensure its strength, painting the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY D1 and RWY28 to THR28.

Schedule

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.

Operational Restrictions

- Closure TWY D1.

- Departures/arrivals on RWY 12-30 from/to the South Apron shall be performed by crossing RWY 12/30 via C4 and taxiways T.

PHASE 5.2. Margin TWY D3

The works will involve excavating and restoring the margin surface in order to ensure its strength, painting the new outer edge of the taxiway and replacing the affected lighting at the intersection of TWY D3 and RWY28 to THR28 and to THR 10.

Schedule

The works shall be carried out during the airport’s non-operational hours.

Operational Restrictions

- Closure TWY D3.

- No entry/exit to/from the South Apron via D2 when LVP are active.
