MADRID/Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas AD (LEMD).- Resurfacing on Taxiways A17 and A20 until A24.

Until 17 April 2026 estimated, works will be executed on the airfield of MADRID/Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport to resurface Taxiways A17, A20, A21, A22, A23 and A24.

The works have been divided into 3 phases. The order of execution of the works will be according to the airport’s operation requirements. The start and end dates of each phase, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via NOTAM. The works will be carried out continuously (H24).

The works cannot be performed whenever the LVP are activated.

The works shall be duly marked and lit by day and by night.

Caution is recommended due to the presence of personnel and machinery. Taxiing must be accomplished at minimum power in the vicinity of work zones in order to prevent the impact of jet efflux in areas where personnel are working.

Standard taxiing routes shall be modified, therefore ATC instructions must be followed for taxiing.

PHASE 0

Prior to the commencement of Phase 1 and Phase 2 works, lighting will be installed at two intermediate holding positions on:

• TWY A18, the lit intermediate holding position will become bi-directional.

• TWY M25-1, the intermediate holding position will be lit in a single direction from East to West.

The installations works will be carried out with occasional closures of the two taxiways (A18 and M25), to be published via NOTAM.

PHASE 1

• Resurfacing TWY A17.

Location of the works: TWY A17

Operational restrictions:

• TWY A17 closed.

• Code F A380 aircraft cannot not operate at T123.

Work schedule: 24H

PHASE 2

Resurfacing on Taxiways A20, A21, A22, A23 and A24, which has been divided into 2 sub-phases:

PHASE 2.1

• Resurfacing Taxiways A20 and A21

Location of the works: TWY A19, A20, A21.

Operational restrictions:

• Rapid Exit Taxiway L2: closed

• Taxiways LE and L42: closed.

• Taxiways A19, A20, A21, A22, ME2, ME1, B1, and N1: closed.

Work schedule: 24H

PHASE 2.2

• Resurfacing Taxiways A22, A23 and A24

Location of the works: TWY A22, A23 and A24.

Operational restrictions:

• Rapid Exit Taxiway L4: Section between TWY L42 and A22 closed

• TWY A21, A22, A23, A24, N1, EA1 and EB1: closed.

Work schedule: 24H

Upon completion of this SUP, the new lit intermediate holding positions A18 (bi-directional) and M25-1 (in the direction of M25 to M24) will become permanent.
