LANZAROTE/César Manrique Lanzarote AD (GCRR).- Airfield improvement works.

Until 29 October 2027 (estimated), works will be performed on the airfield.

The actions included in these works will be carried out in six phases, affecting the airfield zones that are listed in this document.

The start and end dates of each phase, as well as any operational incidents that may arise, will be announced via the corresponding NOTAM.

The phases may not necessarily be executed in the order given in this document, and several phases may be activated simultaneously.

The works will be performed at night time, with the runway out of service, and the areas will be completely cleared prior to the daily reopening of the airport.

All work areas shall be duly marked and lit. Caution is recommended in the areas close to the works due to the presence of workers and machinery which may, in exceptional cases, generate FOD in the manoeuvring area.

In the event of an evacuation at night, workers and machinery shall be withdrawn to a safe area.

PHASE 0. PRIOR ACTIONS

During this phase, the following actions will be carried out prior to the execution of the works: data collection, assembling the construction site and stockpiling of construction material.

These tasks shall be performed during and outside the airport´s operational hours, without affecting operations.

PHASE 1. VISUAL AIDS

Actions to adapt visual aids for regulatory compliance in Holding Bays 03 and 21, in taxiways E3 and E4, and in the PAPI system of Threshold 21.

SUB-PHASE 1.1. ACTIONS IN HOLDING BAY 03

Actions:

• Installing recessed centre line lighting and IHP lighting at the intermediate holding positions RC and RD, including the construction of manholes, digging recesses to install secondary cabling and laying new primary circuits through comb-type conduits.

• Division of TWY R5: The section of the taxiway parallel to holding bay 03, extending from its northern access to TWY E4, will be redesignated as TWY R6. The corresponding taxiway surface markings will be applied, new signs will be installed, and the existing signage on TWY R5 and TWY E4 will be supplemented with the appropriate direction and location signs.

• Electrical works prior to installing and putting into service the new information signs on taxiways R5, R6 and E4, and at the holding positions RC and RD.

• Installing and putting into service the signs, the centre line lighting connection and installing the retroreflective edge markers.

• Removing the elevated edge lighting of the holding bay, removing primary and secondary cabling, and dismantling all disused lighting elements.

• Painting new signs on the edge and paved margins of the outer perimeter of the holding bay and removing the old signs.

Operational Restrictions:

No impact on operations.

Please note that the markings may be incomplete at any given time during the works, and therefore caution is advised when taxiing in Holding Bay 03.

SUB-PHASE 1.2. PAPI SYSTEM ON RWY 21

The necessary civil engineering tasks and runway lighting activities will be carried out to ensure that the PAPI system on Runway 21 is powered by three independent electrical circuits, thus providing it with the electrical redundancy required for air navigation aid equipment.

SUB-PHASE 1.3. E3. E2 AND E3 ANTI-INTRUSION BARS AND RAINWATER COLLECTION TANK

Electrical works to bring the centreline lighting on exit taxiway E3 into compliance with regulations will be carried out. This will involve installing new recessed lights on the centreline of the turn from RWY 21 and on the curved sections where E3 joins R3 and RWY 03. Three lights will also be replaced in this last section in order to maintain the alternating colour display.

Additionally, during this phase, new lights will be installed at the ends of the anti-intrusion bars on taxiways E2 and E3, and a drainage tank will be built.

SUB-PHASE 1.4. ACTIONS ON TAXIWAY E4

Works on horizontal markings will be carried out: the edge marking will be modified and new markings for the paved margins will be painted until the junction with the runway.

Works will be performed on the taxiway edge lighting, adjusting the placement of the retroreflective markers to the new edge marking.

SUB-PHASE 1.5. LIGHTING WORKS IN HOLDING BAY 21 AND TAXIWAY E1

The necessary lighting works to install IHP lights and the site information sign at the holding position RA will be carried out.

The E1 information sign will be supplemented with the sign indicating the direction to RA so that aircraft may autonomously access RA from Taxiway E1.

PHASE 2. CIVIL ENGINEERING WORKS IN VARIOUS AREAS OF THE AIRFIELD

SUB-PHASE 2.1. RFFS PLATFORM DRAINAGE

Actions:

Works will be performed to remove shrubs, clear the terrain and install a drainage system, consisting of shallow trenches filled with drainage material to collect runoff from paved surfaces.

SUB-PHASE 2.2. SAFETY FENCING

Actions:

Deteriorated airport border fencing will be taken down and replaced, in addition to lighting and signposting the sections located within the obstacle limitation surfaces.

SUB-PHASE 2.3. WORKS IN CRITICAL AREA OF ILS LOC 03

Actions:

All poles in the critical area of ILS/LOC 03 will be taken down and replaced with others that comply with breakability requirements and requirements related to the marking of fixed objects as set out in current regulations.

PHASE 3. ACTIONS ON RUNWAY STRIP 03

Earthworks will be performed to adjust the slopes of the runway strip of RWY 03, including the demolition and subsequent reconstruction of the affected sections of the perimeter roadway and the parallel drainage ditch.

PHASE 4. COMPLIANCE OF VISUAL AIDS ON EM

The necessary lighting works will be performed for the installation of the recessed one-way lights along the turning centre lines between EM and R4 and R5, recessed lights at the ends of the anti-intrusion bars, and the relocation of three signs.

Operational Restrictions:

No impact on operations.

PHASE 5. ADAPTING OBSTACLES

Ensuring regulatory compliance of all elements located within the RESAs, runway strips and taxiways that constitute an obstacle to navigation.

Actions:

- Dismantling and/or demolition of all disused elements.

- Replacing manhole and tank covers with others of the appropriate strength.

- Fitting wedges to round off the edges of manholes, wells and the bases of signs.

- Adjusting the height of the obstacles to match the adjacent terrain.

- Ensuring the breakability of all equipment and installations.
