BARCELONA/Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat AD (LEBL).- Construction of a new rapid exit taxiway from RWY 02/20.

Until 03 September 2027 (estimated), works will be carried out on RWY 02/20 and RWY 06L/24R at BARCELONA/Josep Tarradellas Barcelona–El Prat Airport.

Description of the works:

The works will involve the construction of a new rapid exit RET A1 from RWY 02/20.

During the execution of the works, pilots may notice the presence of machinery and workers in the vicinity of the intersection of RWY 02/20 and RWY 06L/24R. All works will be performed whilst maintaining the appropriate safety distance for as long as the runways and taxiways are in use.

At certain stages of the works, the affected runways and taxiways will be closed and their closure announced via NOTAM.

In the event that Low Visibility Procedures (LVP) are in place, the works shall be halted, the equipment removed, and the workers shall leave the manoeuvring area.

Phases of the construction and operational impact:

The initial schedule for the various phases of the works and the anticipated operational impacts are set out below. This schedule may be modified depending on the circumstances of the construction and operations.

The specific periods during which the operational restrictions will apply, their duration and PPR will be announced via NOTAM.

1	24H Schedule	Closure of RWY 02/ 20 and RWY 06L/24R during the entire phase.	Continuous closure without PPR Aerodrome capacity will be subject to runway availability. Aircraft must be adjusted for operation on the runway RWY 06R/24L.
2	Daytime-time schedule 0700-2300 LT	Closure of RWY 02/20. Occasional closures of TWY N4, M4 and N5 depending on the works, they shall never be closed simultaneously.	Day-time closures of RWY 02/20 without PPR. Use of 30 min PPR for aircraft clearance to taxi on N4, M4 and M5.
3	2300-0700 LT	Occasional closures of TWY T4 and CN depending on the works.	30 min PPR for clearance to taxi on TWY T4 and CN, with the exception of works on manholes which shall be without PPR.
4	24H Schedule	Closure of TWY T4, CN and T3. Traffic via P2 restricted to aircraft with maximum ICAO code D.	No PPR.
5	Night-time schedule 2300-0700 LT	Depending on the nature of the works, there may be occasional, non-simultaneous closures: Closure of RWY 06L/24R and RWY 02/20 (subject to WLL). Closure of RWY 06L/24R. Closure of RWY 02/20. Occasional closure of T4, CN, T3.	Works without PPR, except for trenching, cable laying and painting work, which will have a 30 min PPR.
Final	Night-time schedule 2300-0700 LT	Occasional night-time closure of RWY 02/20 and RWY 06L/24R. Works are subject to the availability of WLL configuration in the event of simultaneous runway closures.	Runway closures with 30 min PPR .
